Dr. Chase McLaurinis an experienced educator and educational leader with over a decade of experience in education. Dr. McLaurin has an outstanding track record for improving school and student outcomes using his laser-like focus on academics, organizational development, and school culture.He is a teacher and student advocate who passionately believes in transparency, empathy, and a commitment to excellence when working with all stakeholders to ensure every student receives a world-class education. Dr. McLaurin has extensive experience developing specialized school programs, including language immersion, acceleration, cultural diversity, leadership, and college prep programs. His work has been recognized throughout his career with numerous awards, including Principal of the Year Awards, U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School Award, and Model Dual Language Immersion School Awards.
Dr. McLaurin is a certified teacher, principal, and superintendent in Texas and Louisiana.Hehas served as an elementary Two-Way Dual Language Spanish Immersion Principal, Early College High School Principal, District Executive Director, and educational leadership consultant. In addition to leading the LFI school network, he mentors new principals and serves as an adjunct professor at Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. McLaurin earned his Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Secondary Education from Louisiana State University, Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, and a Doctorate in PK-12 Educational Leadership from the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University.
Tiguida Mathieu previously served as the Chief Academic Officer, Principal of the Priestley Campus, and is of French & Senegalese origin. She is currently the Deputy Superintendent of the entire Lycee network. Mme Mathieu previously worked as deputy head teacher in 2016, in France and abroad. Mme Mathieu worked as Interim CEO of the French school (elementary and secondary) of Yaoundé in Cameroon in 2017-18. After a scientific high school degree in Saint-Louis of Senegal, she moved to Strasbourg in the east of France to study chemistry, physics and sociology.
Mme Mathieu has a Master's Degree in Physical Chemistry of polymers/materials and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. After having taught physical sciences in middle and high school in the academy of Strasbourg, she took the competitive examination for the position of Principal Education Counselor and occupied these functions before joining the corps of management personnel in a French national competition. Mme Mathieu has an unalterable passion for education because, as Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that a son of a mineworker can become the head of mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another."
Dr. Ndeye Bineta Mbodj, originally from Senegal, is an applied linguist and corpus linguist. She earned her PhD in Applied Linguistics and English as a Second Language from Georgia State University, an MA-TESOL from Michigan State University, and an MA in English from Cheikh Anta Diop University, Dakar. Dr. Mbodj began her career in Senegal as a middle and high school educator, teaching English as a Foreign Language for eight years and English for Specific Purposes for nine years at both secondary and university levels. She was also a Fulbright Exchange Teacher in 2005-2006, teaching French as a Foreign Language and English Language Art at Pendleton Heights High School, Pendleton, Indiana.
Her recent positions include Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Linguistics & ESL at Georgia State University and Doctoral Lecturer of TESOL in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching, School of Education, Hunter College, New York.
Dedicated to teacher development, Dr. Mbodj focuses on addressing the varied linguistic needs of learners across age groups. Her research encompasses discourse analysis, formulaic language in specialized texts, academic writing, and assessment in Language for Specific Purposes. Her publications include book chapters (John Benjamins Publishing Company), journal articles in peer-reviewed journals (GATESOL in Action, The Journal of English for Specific Purposes, and Revista Brasileira de Linguística Aplicada), as well as a teacher-training book published by British Council Global English.
At Lycée Français International, Dr. Mbodj is back to K-12 education and dedicates her extensive experience in language teaching and international education to advancing the school’s commitment to delivering exceptional education that inspires students to develop into innovative and inquisitive global citizens.
M. Jordan Drew is the Chief Operating Officer at Lycée Français International de la Louisiane. With a robust background in information technology and strategic leadership, M. Drew has made significant contributions to the organization since joining in October 2021 as the Director of Information Technology. In this role, he has overseen the information technology infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with the educational goals and operational standards of the school. M. Drew's career in information technology spans over a decade; he got his start at Don Bohn Ford as the internet department supervisor, then transitioned to the role of minute clerk and information technology technician with the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court, where he worked across teams both with technical support and policy/standard operating procedure creation and implementation. M. Drew holds a Bachelor of Science in Network Operations and Security and a Master of Business Administration in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University. He is highly certified, holding credentials such as CompTIA Information Technology Operations Specialist, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Amazon Web Services Certified SysOps Administrator, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation. Known for his strong analytical skills, succession planning, and ability to build strong relationships, M. Drew is dedicated to leveraging his expertise to drive the success of Lycée Français International de la Louisiane.
Mme Faith Moses is the Director of Student Services at Lycée Français International de la Louisiane. Mme Moses believes that all students deserve an engaging student-centered education and strives to support teachers in building empowering and effective classrooms for all types of learners.
Mme Moses moved to New Orleans in 2018 with Teach For America where she was selected from over 45,000 applicants to teach in Title 1 public schools. During her time as a Teach For America Corps member, Mme Moses discovered her passion and love for education and a desire to ensure that all students receive a unique and high-quality education.
Prior to this role at Lycée Français, Mme Moses worked at Langston Hughes Academy as a middle school Special Educator and the Special Education Department Chair. As a teacher, Mme Moses led her regional school network in performance each year and continually fostered growth and a love of learning in her students. For the 2020-2021 academic year, Mme Moses was awarded Special Education Teacher of the Year. During her tenure as department chair, she developed strong compliance systems to ensure students receive a high quality education. Mme Moses supported teachers of all experience levels through virtual and in-person instruction and developed a culturally responsive curriculum across several grade levels.
Mme Moses holds a Level 2 Teaching Certification from the State of Louisiana in Middle Grades English Instruction, Mild to Moderate Special Education Instruction, English as a Second Language, and Reading Intervention, a Masters of Science in Education with a focus on Special Education and Policy from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelors of Arts in History from Brown University.
Born on Réunion Island and raised in France (Lyon area), Dr. Kyle-Rivière moved to Los Angeles in 2012, then to New Orleans in 2022. He earned a Master's degree in Biology from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, and an Engineering degree in Agronomy and Environmental Science from Montpellier SupAgro. He also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana University-Bloomington, and a Doctorate in Education from Johns Hopkins University specialized in Cognitive Science applied to education.
Before serving as the Director of Teaching and Learning at LFI, Dr. Kyle-Rivière was a high school Biology-Geology teacher and head of science department for almost 15 years and led professional learning workshops for educators on cognitive sciences applied to teaching in partnership with AEFE and Mission Laïque Française.
M. Yassa Aici grew up in Northern France before going to complete his studies on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, then going to live in French Guyana in South America. He has lived in Louisiana since 2016 where he held multiple positions: French Interventionist in Lafourche Parish, 2nd grade teacher, Instructional Coach, Dean of Students, and Interim Principal. He is currently serving as the Director of Operations, Data and Assessment.
